1n0ut is an artist collective that works both collaboratively and individually on a variety of video and interactive art projects with a focus on generating synesthetic experiences. The artists mix analogue and digital processes in their work to achieve a perfect aesthetic blend which can be understood as a reflection upon all our lives. Cross-disciplinary by nature, their approaches reach from a self programmed real-time video montage system based on Praxmarer’s ongoing PhD work to the charming photo stills and composed video works from Bidner. Both like to think in shades of grey - between black and white - which gives the audience an experience of fuzziness, fault and, despite algorithmic perfection, harmony.
Robert
Praxmarer was born in 1976, he soon was part of the Austrian
« Hochbegabtenfoerderung » (scholarship for highly
gifted pupils) and continued his carreer after school in the direction
of art and media, he was an artist at the renowned Ars Electronica Futurelab
for 7 years and now he is a highly educated computer engineer and artist.
Currently he teaches at Art University Linz at the institute of Interface
Cultures. He is a guest lecturer at Trinity College Dublin, FH Hagenberg
for Media Design and art school Aix en Provence. His research interests
include interactive art, with a special focus on Interactive Video Manipulation,
Realtime Performances, Computer Games and Software Art in general. He
received various prizes and grants, including honorary mention from UNESCO
Digital Arts Award. He exhibited internationally (ARCO Madrid, Ars Electronica,
VIPER, Crossing Europe, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, Cynet Art, Microwave Media
Festival, just to name a few). He was an Artist in Residence of the “Les
pepinieres pour les jeunes artistes” program of the European Union
for the most promising talents in Europe at CIANT in Prague.
In 2006 he started his work on his PhD in digital performance and video
art. His supervisor is Christa Sommerer, a well known and established
media artist and pioneer in this field.
Reinhold
Bidner was born in Salzburg and has been living in Linz for
7Years. He studied at the college for applied sciences and technologies
in Salzburg, (MultiMediaArt), at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of
Art and Design, Scotland, Dundee (Animation and Electronic Media) and
completed his degree with merit within the scope of a Socrates Scholarship
at K.O.P.P.-Film Berlin.
In 2002 he came to work at the Ars Electronica Futurelab in Linz. Since
2006 he is freelancing in the fields of Video, Photography and Media Art.
He has received both awards and scholarships for his work (in the fields
of Media Art, Video, Photography) and has exhibited these internationally
(New York, Seville, Madrid, Prague, Dresden, Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Linz
etc.). 2006 he spent 8 months at the Palac Akropolis in Prague during
his "Pepinieres europeennes pour les jeunes artistes"-Map-XXL
scolarship. In 2008 he won the Media Art Award Salzburg and the Music-Video-Clip-Award
of the Backup-Film-Festival Weimar, in the frame of the MediaArt Collective
1n0ut (with Robert Praxmarer). End of 2008/Beginning of 2009 he received
a scholarship in Paris at Cite des Arts International. Currently he lives
and works in Vienna, where he continues his experiments in the fields
of Music Visualisation, Performance, Video and Photography.
Ulrike Hager ist gebürtige Oberösterreicherin, nach abgeschlossener Ausbildung an der HTL für chemische Betriebstechnik absolvierte sie ihr Tanzstudium am heutigen IDA Institute an der Bruckner Privatuniversität und erweiterte ihr Studium an der Kunstakademie in Amsterdam im Department of New Dance Developement.

Ihre choreographische Arbeit
„ Together...him“ präsentierte sie 2000 im Rahmen
der Tanzstücke im Posthof/Linz und den Regensburger Tanztagen,
2001 debütierte sie mit
„Nouvelle Cuisine“ in Amsterdam, 2001 „Fratres“,
ein Auftragswerk für das Festival 4020. wurde zusammen mit dem Jeunesse
Orchester und dem Violinisten Ernst Kovacic in Linz aufgeführt.
2003 „Donauwalzer“ und „Tanz der Rohrflöten“
Choreographie für das „Buschwindröschen Ballet“
der Linzer Philharmonie / MAK Wien
2004 präsentierte sie ihr erstes abendfüllendes Tanzstück

Kathrin
Wankelmuth schloss ihr Tanzstudium in den Niederlanden im
Jahr 2008 ab (`Theaterdans Uitvoerend` mit Schwerpunkt `Danstheater` an
der Fontys Hogescholen voor de Kunsten/Dansacademie Tilburg).
In der Saison 2007/08 war Kathrin im Rahmen ihres Studiums Mitglied von
x.ida, prostgraduate Tanzkompanie in Linz. Sie arbeitete dort zusammen
mit Chris Haring, Georg Blaschke, Jianan Qiu, Stephanie Cumming u.a. Sie
trat in deren Stücken zB. während `Österreich tanzt!`,
den
Burgenländischen Tanztagen und dem `Schäxpir-Festival` auf.
Es folgten erste Projekte, wie `CPU-Der Prozess` mit 1n0ut und das Jugendkulturprojekt
`sweet hearts` mit Liz King/D.ID im Burgenland.
Im April 2009 choreographierte und tanzte sie für das spartenübergreifende
Projekt `Das Lied von der Erde` mit dem `Neruda-Quartett` (Altdorf b.
Nürnberg). Momentan arbeitet sie u.a. mit der Tanzkompanie `novaTanz`
(Köln) als Tänzerin zusammen.
Nanina Kotlowski
Nanina was born in Vienna in 1984. She studied at the Fontys Dansacademie
(NL) and at the Laban Dance Center (UK) where she obtained her BA in Dance
Theatre in 2006. She continued to work as a freelance artist, among others
with Sebastian Prantls Tanz Atelier Wien (AUT) and Ex Nihilo (FR). In
2007 she joined the postgraduate dance company X.ida for her Masters degree
in Performance under the artistic direction of Esther Linley. There she
worked with Choreographers such as Chris Haring, Stephanie Cumming, Georg
Blaschke and Jianan Qu. At the moment she is combining her Masters at
the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz with her studies in Dramatics
at the University Vienna. She is also part of the ensemble of Tanz Atelier
Wien.
